Heroin a cheap alternative to prescription narcotics/opioids. Heroin is the fastest growing drug on the streets today. Heroin is claiming more lives than any other drug. The young men in this video have seen the worst of this drug and being a slave to this drug. They are all recovered addicts and have a constant battle each day to remain clean and sober. There sobriety times range from a few months to over 4 years. They share their experience, advice and real stories to help teenages, young adults, and just about anyone to understand the reality of heroin and educate on the true dangers of this drug. These are recovered addicts not actors, their stories and experiences are real and will be apart of them forever. This video was created for educational purposes to help raise awareness of the heroin epidemic in today’s world. This is sponsored by the FBI Drug Prevention Program H.O.P.E. All of the video content is copyright to Nicolas DeSarno and music is copyright to Amplify Church.

The video that I am submitting from Franklin Regional Senior High School, is a “Documentary on Heroin”, the audience for this video are teenagers through adult. This disease effects everyone, no matter what the age. My objective for this video is to raise awareness on how the usage of heroin doesn't just effect the addict, but it also effects everyone around the addict. I have a very personal experience with addiction to heroin, my cousin passed away due to an over dose with the drug after being clean for seven months. I just wanted to have a way for people who have made it through the process of getting sober to be able to share their story and help people who are dealing with addiction because they are not alone and people will be there to support them. The process that I went through to create this documentary is: I called a young man from the House of Principles in West Palm Beach Florida, and he helped me get the interviews of the recovered and recovering addicts. I also went to downtown Pittsburgh to film all of the videos for my b-rolls over the interviews and stories. After those were done my aunt who has lost her son due to heroin told her story and my cousin who lost her brother due to heroin told her story as well. Everything in this video is copyright to me.
