My recommendation is to try and engage the panel by asking questions about the team's pain points that this role addresses. You can use their responses to make your answers more relevant to their needs. Interviewing is about what you can do for them, not what they can do for you.

Based on the trends that I am seeing it's important to research how to handle behavioral interview questions using things like the STARR method. While knowing about the company is a given there are many job seekers who don't understand the concept of situational interviewing and get tripped up handling the questions.

In my opinion, business writing should be crafted so that it's easily understood by any audience. I think it's important to use straightforward language such as the word write instead of create or craft when referring to content. I also think it's important to avoid "corporate speak" with lots of jargon and extraneous words. Sometimes I read a resume that has so much jargon I can't figure out what the person does. I agree with a previous post that short sentences and paragraphs make written content easy to understand.

It's possible to have more than one mentor at the same time each contributing something different to your career growth. As your career develops and you achieve success, you will look back fondly on those relationships recognizing how each person you met helped you along the way.

I agree with Matt Green. When hiring for the long term a company needs to see the potential hire for not only what they can contribute immediately but more importantly for what they can grow into. In my experience, most people leave their jobs because they feel stagnant and are looking for professional development opportunities. If the hiring employer can identify potential development opportunities during the interview process it may help them successfully hire a long-term employee. Also, it's important to keep in mind that if the person is a strong cultural fit, skills can be taught.

We recommend two simple answers to the "what do you think your biggest weakness is?" during an interview. The first is that you are very hard on yourself when you make a mistake or that you tend to be a workaholic and need to work on that. These answers have been used successfully by applicants for many years. They are simple and quick and will enable you to get the weaknesses question out of the way quickly to focus on your strengths.
