Perhaps you would like to be a leader in Institutional Effectiveness? UC San Diego has just launched an Institutional Effectiveness Management and Leadership Certificate program. Thanks for sharing, Aeron! --- Over the last two years University of California San Diego (UCSD) instructors have been developing a new program for individuals interested in the field of institutional effectiveness management and leadership. Following the formal curriculum review and approval process, I am happy to announce that the first program cohort for the Institutional Effectiveness Management and Leadership Certificate Program will be starting in Summer 2024. The 18-credit program consists of three, 10-week online courses (one per quarter). The courses will be instructor facilitated and include live online sessions (attendance will be flexible and all lectures recorded). The program was developed with the intent for building community across higher education professionals and supporting upward occupational mobility for individuals in institutional research and planning, information technology, faculty, instruction, student services, and graduate students. #ASUEngineering Postdoctoral Researcher Nora Hennessy led a study that found California must retire existing long-haul, heavy-duty #trucks and require zero-emission vehicles to meet zero greenhouse gas emissions targets by 2045. "While zero-emission vehicle sales mandates are effective, it is clear from our analysis that they will not be sufficient for reaching zero emissions on the desired timescales. Accelerated retirement programs will be critical for California to reach emissions targets by 2045," says Hennessy, lead author of the study. Targeting the early retirement of long-haul and port trucks would be most cost effective, says Hennessy and Stanford University researchers Madalsa Singh, Sarah Saltzer, PhD and Inês Azevedo. Latino, Black and low-income communities suffer the highest mortality rates from truck-related pollution and would benefit most from a shift to zero-emissions vehicles, Hennessy says. https://ow.ly/gZ9Q50SY3B5 🚚 #ASUResearch #greenhousegas #ZeroEmissions
