Launched one of Cleveland’s first social enterprises and first nonprofit restaurant through collaborating with funders, nonprofit organizations, media, and community leaders. Named “Fundraiser of the Year” for 2014 by Fundraising Success magazine; named to Cleveland’s “25 Under 35” by Cleveland 20/30 Club.

    Founder of one of the nation’s first nonprofit software bootcamps devoted to teaching low-income adults how to write computer code. To date, 80 students have benefited from this training, the program has been recognized nationally by Microsoft, and Chicago Codes recently launched based on this model.

    For EDWINS, won the Cleveland Social Venture Partners 2013 competition for their Investee. This award comes with $15,000 per year for three years, and a three-year consulting engagement. This is the second time Matt has won the award (after willing it in 2011 for MedWish).

    Manhattan Institute

    One of just five nonprofits in the country, MedWish was honored by the Manhattan Institute in 2011. Along with national recognition, the award came with a $25,000 prize.
