You're trying to build strong relationships with colleagues. What's the biggest mistake you could make?
I try to focus on the individual I am trying to build a relationship with without making it about me. I have to keep reminding myself to do this but trying to focus on understanding someone's motivations helps me to see where I can find a commonality or, at minimum, see where they are coming from.

How do you give a speech without notes?
I prefer to start with a mental outline. Then I force myself to write it out and built on my outline. Eventually, I go back to committing the structure to memory, and having the written speech at the ready (on paper or on my phone) to refer to when I forget a section as I am practicing.

Seeking feedback from a diverse group can also provide you with new perspectives. In addition to honing your content, real-time feedback can help with memorizing sections (associating the section and feedback with the individuals who provided you with comments).
