Given the pace of change in AI evolution is exponential and there is no one person or team or a company that can be considered an expert in all the moving parts. There are many smart people all around the world that are working on some really important technical breakthroughs and AI applications for improving human experience. If one gets an opportunity to be part of this ecosystem, it is a privilege and conflicts are bound to happen. Only way to survive and thrive in this entropy filled world is to embrace this reality and keep learning, growing and be radically adaptive.

Since section is about understanding the sources of conflict in AI world, it is important to understand different levels where a conflict could occur. 1. Conflict at the vision/mission definition. There could be a conflict between founders on the mission/vision. This could be very consequential. 2. Conflicts at the execution level where multiple disciplines of executors may have conflicts of interests, conflicts of opinions within a team, conflicts around technical methods and preferences etc. 3. Conflicts at the team level around values and beliefs. These are typically painful when the team is trying to resolve an operational issue within an AI based closed loop system. I am certain that there are many more sources but this is a start.

This is primarily because of the relationships and the alignment of goals. In my opinion, the certifications will only take you so far, you will thrive if you focus on the human side of this job. Always keep in mind that a win-win situations with your vendor partners will always lead to outstanding results.

I have been in the business of building global teams that are performance power houses for more than a decade as an enterprise executive and a tech founder and CEO. From my experience, I learned that setting a culture that embraces feedback as a mechanism for growth of the individual and the team is baseline. Once that is established, everyone has the foundation to grow from. At that point Cultural nuances will become secondary because the team members believe and understand the spirit of feedback as part of the culture. There can be some idiosyncrasies that may need to be managed for different geographical cultures but that is the beauty and power of diversity.
