And now for something completely different! Former "Systems Thinker" Gene Bellinger demonstrates a really nifty tool for creating causal loop diagrams from an LLM prompt. In the demo below, Gene shows how he created a basic CLD to explore the relationships involved in GDP development, and how that can be refined to explore contributing factors to government spending or education quality, and to highlight the various loop types. Gene wisely cautions that this is a tool for augmenting not replacing critical thinking, and I'd add that as useful as CLDs are, you can abuse them to convince yourself of relationships that do not exist, or at least don't function as you think-- recall Dr. Deming's warning from Gipsie Ranney to not confuse coincidence with cause-and-effect! Nonetheless, this could be a really useful tool for exploring systemic relationships to clarify your thinking. No word on release date or subscription price. https://lnkd.in/gTK9PV4S

I've been experimenting with FlowiseAI (YC S23), a platform that lets you build AI chatbots without any coding. They recently introduced a new feature: AI Agent Teams. By simply dragging and dropping nodes onto a canvas and assigning roles and responsibilities, you can create a team of AI agents that collaborate to solve tasks. Leon van Zyl has a great tutorial on how to build your own AI Agent team. Even if you're not ready to dive in just yet, I recommend watching his video. It is evidence of how AI is transforming the way we work and a reminder that if we don't learn to use these tools, we will be outpaced by people that do.

"Our longitudinal analyses show that in a single year (2023-2024) there has been a rapid crescendo of data restrictions from web sources, rendering ~5% of all tokens in C4, or 28% of the most actively maintained, critical sources in C4, fully restricted from use. For Terms of Service crawling restrictions, a full 45% of C4 is now restricted. If respected or enforced, these restrictions are rapidly biasing the diversity, freshness, and scaling laws for general-purpose AI systems. We hope to illustrate the emerging crisis in data consent, foreclosing much of the open web, not only for commercial AI, but non-commercial AI and academic purposes."
