You're recruiting for hard-to-fill global positions. How do you manage stakeholder expectations effectively?
Hiring is among one of the most important things to do. Ensuring the right fit both for the company, but also for the candidate and team they will be working with is paramount. Especially in highly specialized niche skills sets there may only be a handful of people that are qualified for the position. It is important for Talent Acquisition and the Hiring Manager to be in sync with realistic expectations both in skills set and time to find a true unicorn.

You’re about to start a job search in recruiting. What’s the first thing you need to know?
Recruiting is a rollercoaster, so you have to be ready for whatever comes your way, persistent in the right way and resilient. It's important for you to remember that when you're in recruiting, you're really in the business of people. It's important to treat others the way you would like to be treated, people have long memories. In terms of knowing your niche, make sure you have at least a basic understanding of what company, job and candidate you are recruiting and it's your responsibility to do your research. Early on in your recruiting career you must be okay with calling people on the phone and not just relying on messages, email and text. You will get many, many, many "no's", but it gets you that closer to a "yes". Good Luck!
