You’re a branding professional looking to avoid common career mistakes. What should you do first?
Center the customers, prospects, stakeholders and employees of the Brands you support. Know them, empathize with them, be curious about them, love them, champion them. Never take your eye of this focus. Ever. I don't think there are common mistakes that derail a Branding Professional's career. The list infers that there are a set of prescribed acts. Know your audience inside and out and make sure the Brand is utterly devoted to them. If people in your company don't agree, find a company that is "into" this in their actions not just their words.
