Deterministic Unit Commitment Model in GAMS
Developed a deterministic unit commitment (UC) model for a 200 generator system using the General Algebraic Modeling System (GAMS), a high-level modeling system for mathematical programming problems.
Successfully incorporated various operating constraints such as, generation limits, spinning reserves, ramp rates, minimum uptime/downtime, etc.
Tested and verified model using commercial solvers such as, CPLEX, BARON, SCIP, and BONMIN.

Conducted small signal analysis on the two-area power system modeled by P. Kundur.
Designed and tuned a PSS to improve small-signal stability of the system, and thereby damp oscillations prevalent in the system.
Verified design of PSS using the Heffron Philips Model, a linearized model of a single-machine infinite bus system (SMIB).

Modeling of a Distribution Feeder in RSCAD
