I have really enjoyed orienting myself to the world of private sector employment these past few months. I've said it before, and I'll say it again, there are SO MANY echoes of my experience in the Navy as I hear of challenges others face. In this short video, Todd Rose highlights the opportunity to empower employees as a way to mitigate quiet quitting. One element I really hope to see standardized in the private sector soon is the use of very clear and attainable internal career paths or even industry career paths. The US Navy offers a "Career Roadmap" to every Sailor at every rank. And sure, it could use a little UI/UX work, but it is incredibly clear about the most important factors in progressing through a career in the Navy. In two short pages full of acronyms, lives a table that outlines expectations of time in service, career milestones, average time to advance (promote), special programs, and an overview of "typical career path development" for EVERY RANK. I can think of no more empowering a tool than a clearly outlined career path. #youareworthi #employeeempowerment #USNavy
