Over the past 50 years, Sponsors for Educational Opportunity (SEO) has provided superior educational and career programs to young people from underserved communities to maximize their opportunities for college and career success.
Beginning in September 2011, high school students attending public schools in the San Francisco Unified School District are gaining the opportunity to participate in the SEO Scholars Program. As SEO Scholars, students will…Over the past 50 years, Sponsors for Educational Opportunity (SEO) has provided superior educational and career programs to young people from underserved communities to maximize their opportunities for college and career success.
Beginning in September 2011, high school students attending public schools in the San Francisco Unified School District are gaining the opportunity to participate in the SEO Scholars Program. As SEO Scholars, students will gain the academic preparation needed to enter and succeed at competitive colleges and universities around the country.
SEO Scholars participate in a rigorous English and math curriculum and leadership training after school and on Saturdays throughout their high school career.

A Home Within is the only national organization dedicated solely to meeting the emotional needs of foster youth. We recruit mental health professionals who volunteer to see one foster child in weekly therapy—free of charge, for as long as it takes. More than 500 therapists have already worked with over 800 children, teens, and young adults and provided over 2500 therapy years to this highly vulnerable population.

Great article from PitchBook on why domain expertise amongst VCs matters. TL;DR -- in verticals like healthcare, having investors with high amount of domain expertise can result in up to 40% higher odds of achieving an IPO, 20% higher chance of being acquired and 30% higher chance of an overall successful exit. Importantly, the marginal value of having investors with domain expertise varies by sector and stage, and is not uniform, so your mileage may vary, and generalist investors still have a very important role to play in the venture ecosystem. https://lnkd.in/dXpi8gzm Curious to hear from founders: Do you have examples of seeing specialist investors be helpful in unique ways that you can share?
