🌟Here’s an interesting article from AVMA . . . There’s a bit of sad irony that we are trying to open additional vet schools to offset a shortage of veterinarians, and one factor that may make this harder to achieve is the shortage of veterinarians in academia. 🔎I do believe we have a shortage of veterinarians, which varies by geography, specialty, small animal vs. mixed animal vs. equine, etc. I do think that opening some veterinary schools, especially in strategic locations, will be part of the solution. But we are all facing challenges staffing hospitals, and this applies to teaching hospitals as well. When our current veterinary schools are understaffed, we will be able to staff additional veterinary schools? Check out the article here: https://lnkd.in/eKwN3eNZ
