This year's LinkedIn Top Companies are embracing the power of AI and providing tools and reskilling opportunities to employees. We're seeing this from leading employers including JPMorgan Chase & Co., Procter & Gamble, and AT&T who are offering employees AI learning opportunities. We're also seeing strong interest from professionals in bringing AI into their work life with job posts on LinkedIn that mention artificial intelligence or generative AI seeing 17% greater application growth over the past two years than job posts with no such mentions. Is there an AI tool your company has implemented that you're finding valuable? I'll happily admit that Copilot in Microsoft Teams has been a total game changer for me.

Just as so many of us are upskilling in AI to add to our career toolkits, we must also upskill in #wellbeing management. I used to consider these softer skills as innate -- you were either a "people person" or you weren't. Then COVID lockdowns occurred, and managers found themselves managing their employees' well-being alongside their own, and it dawned on me how little managers (including me) collectively understood the effects, let alone the management, of collective trauma. My workplace at the time "performed" well-being by mandating team wellness calls or online activities that I, personally, didn't care for, as spending an additional hour on Zoom each day was to me incredibly draining. I attended a daily standup to hear what updates to report back to my team and was ordered to set up an emergency communication call with my team to address rumors of layoffs and to reassure my team we were not impacted. The mandated constant communication loop was congruent with the company's values around process and performance. But for me and, I was to learn, for my team, the sudden, mandated communications in themselves were traumatizing. This piece by Rachael Lowell Ellison helps to explain how collective trauma builds among teams, and how to manage it across a range of personalities, work styles, triggers. Some may argue that work is work, not therapy. And organizations cannot adjust for the myriad trauma thresholds of its employees. And performance is most important. I believe this stance ignores the New Normal (or as Ellison calls it, the New ABnomal). Organizations that don't acknowledge this will lose talent over time, or have to pay enormously for it, and then lose it once that talent tires of being in a #Burnout culture. #WorkplaceCulture
