The Public Company Accounting Oversight Board (PCAOB)’s recent spotlight on AI use in auditing doesn’t quantify their findings, but provides an interesting look into how auditors are approaching generative AI use. "Ultimately, firms must have strong quality controls in place to ensure they are meeting their responsibilities to investors and the requirements under PCAOB rules and standards anytime they are considering using new tools, whether that is AI or anything else,” wrote Chair Erica Williams in a recent LinkedIn post.
