SPACE IDENTIFIERS (SEPT 2017 Gautam Shah) https://lnkd.in/fXDMPn5 A space and a place, create a confusion of identity. The identifiers for both are vastly different. A space is defined by elements within it that give a character to it. The identity of a space emerges from the potential it offers. The place is is occupancy for a purpose, without identifying its use. Place needs markers to define its extent through edges, corners location and orientation. The location and orientation were nearly same, because both were needed together. A location is a macro identity (once the natural terrain features, now a days GPS. Alternatively marks are placed, such as remains of doused fires, urine or excreta by animals, carved marks on tree trunks or stumps on corners.
