DeepCast shipped a number of really cool new features recently in advance of a broad outreach push to podcast listeners. One new feature is our new Daily DeepDigest tool that sends you a concise daily email including any new episodes from the trailing 24 hours from any podcasts you Subscribe to (on DeepCast). Think daily podcast cliff notes or podcast news ticker tape, with a hint of Morning Brew various brews or PitchBook News—it's increasing information throughput when you're pressed for time. And this feature is rapidly evolving to distill other key extractions from shows you're already interested in, but also exposing you to other shows you might be unfamiliar with that also have nuggets to share—and thus increasing your aperture yet still conscious of your time. Want to go deeper on any given episode? Click the episode detail and you're off to an episode on DeepCast, where you can subsequently read a longer form distillation of that episode or go straight to the source and listen to the episode. (And podcaster friends, these pages are definitely increasing indexing and thus Google entry points to your shows!) I'm loving this feature as a user, personally. Packed house for #ATSL24 and a great discussion between Jeff Green, CEO of The Trade Desk and our own Ciarán O'Kane of FPC and ExchangeWire. The discussion touched on the lack of VC participation in AdTech (despite being a $1 Trillion addressable market). “Generalist VCs avoided AdTech because it’s complex. They often don’t understand why they’d win or lose”. This summed up exactly why FirstPartyCapital exists. A $1T complex sector needs specialists to fund innovation, provide deeper DD, illuminating context, access to networks and relevant portfolio support. Over time we hope this provides a stronger signal to generalist VCs and PEs. The CTV AVOD & FAST ad market will grow quickly. 🔵 Many homes already have a smart TV, & for those that have not been able to afford one, they soon will as OEMs continue to reduce their prices & offset with proprietary advertising businesses powered by ACR data, FAST. 🔵 We are going to see a LOT of innovation around CTV 'search & discovery' over the next several years, bringing the intuitive nature of desktop and mobile search to television. Audiences will quickly discover there is so much more beyond the SVOD button destinations on their TV remotes. 🔵 Sports aside, many people don't want to pay for TV content anymore, SVOD fatigue is real! This means, audiences will continue to lean into the growing number of AVOD and FAST services now available to them via their EPGs or growing TV app stores. 🔵 As AVOD and FAST services continue to attract viewers, the liquidity of addressable CTV inventory for those on the buy side to target will increase, and finally offset "there is no scale in CTV" objection. 🔵 AdTech will continue to democratize the biggest screen in the household for many advertisers. Broadcasters will increasingly open up to programmatic (via controlled SSP/DSP deals or proprietary tech) due to asks from agencies, and for many newer AVOD and FAST entrants without upfront footprints, they will lean into programmatic much quicker, and also help to grow a vibrant OMP of high quality streaming inventory, attracting new performance advertisers to CTV. 🔵 There are no 3rd party cookies in CTV, the majority of TV OEMs are powered by proprietary OS's (that differ from those in desktop & mobile) & are not currently restricting the passing of IDs. AVOD and FAST services are also increasingly unlocking the power of their contextual insights, and universal ID's such as UID2/ID5/RampID et al can now also be used in CTV to create even deeper levels of addressability from streaming inventory. 🔵 The IAB Tech Lab continues to innovate around CTV programmatic standards such as OpenRTB 2.6, OM SDK & there is a bunch of great R&D from new companies looking to create 'next gen' TV currencies that combine the best of linear panel based methodologies, with the impression data that is now generated by streaming, giving those on the buy side a much better understanding of audience measurement, and more confidence to spend. 🔵 DSPs and GenAI will enable many SMBs on the sidelines of CTV to build TV assets & migrate spend from search and social, onto the biggest screen in the household, bringing a lot of 'net new' ad $ to TV. 🔵 The convergence of retail media & CTV will continue, as T-commerce builds momentum via new shoppable formats, & audiences lean into buying via their CTVs, like they did on their phones. Smart TVs provide the sight, sound & motion that advertisers love about traditional TV, but increasingly coupled with the precision of digital ad targeting. Excited to see the continued evolution of TV, and rise of ad supported CTV!

I’m super excited to be kicking off a new series of events: Open Invite. There are two strong beliefs we hold at Metrikus that are behind this series of events. 1. We’re still in the early days of creating workplace experiences and the smart building industry is still young – but the change is more necessary than ever and real progress will only happen when we come together to share insights and collaborate. 2. Buildings aren’t just stand-alone structures – they shape cities, build communities, and leave a lasting mark on culture and history. This is something that should not and cannot be forgotten as we innovate into the future. So... we’re celebrating these things by hosting a series of meetups at interesting venues, offering unique experiences that inspire curiosity, spark conversations, and connect people from the PropTech, smart buildings, and workplace industries.
