A growth mindset asks a lot of questions. Trust but verify without feeling like you're interrogating the person or the data sets. Being curious and raising questions is important to ensure you do not take data insights at face value. You can begin with questions like "How does departmental/functional data risk roll up to the company level?", "What kind of risks have been accepted?", "What is the level of validation, and what was the source that derived the output?" Asking questions is one of the growth mindsets that builds confidence in your decision-making process.

A growth mindset is being open to setbacks and accepting them as a part of life. Seeing challenges, mistakes, and setbacks as fuel to help you spring forward and as energy pellets that fuel forward momentum.

The dashboard must tell a story. Not fragments of data chapters here and there, but a whole story. To do that, ask the following questions: 1. Why do I care about this dashboard? 2. What's the risk to the business? 3. How do you identify risks, and what is being done? Create a story for a dashboard by presenting a trend. Without this, the data display won't give you an actionable story. It will remain as data. However, when you provide a trend, data tells an actionable story of qualitative and quantitative risks, trends, and roadmaps, which are critical.

A simple analogy is worth a thousand words. Telling a story with an analogy infused can clarify complex data. You want your audience to experience your story journey with you.

In my experience, companies need a master data plan to govern how their data will be collected, processed, analyzed, interpreted, reported, managed, transferred and archived during the course of the project which can be years long. And as a living document, the master plan is evaluated and modified as things change.
