You're juggling multiple social impact projects. How can you prioritize self-care amidst the demands?
When people are continually encouraged (sometimes even shamed into) to engage in self-care *only* to address burnout, we are doing a disservice and actually causing more harm. Most of the contributing factors to burnout for those who are engaged in social impact work are due to systemic barriers, oppression, and inaccessibility. We can't address systemic problems with individual solutions. Instead, I advocate for co-creating and engaging in collective or community care. When a person is running on empty and they are told to care for themselves...how? With what capacity? With collective care however, a person can gather and be nourished by community, by witnessing, by solidarity and be replenished in ways that self care alone cannot.

Here's how you can attract and keep diverse talent as a team manager.
Integrating neuroinclusion accessibility strategies in the recruiting, hiring, policies, systems, and culture is an essential part of finding and keeping diverse talent. Many companies have launched neurodiversity hiring initiatives in recent years which is wonderful. Like others have mentioned, there has to be an ongoing practice of neuroinclusion accessibility in order to create the kind of environment that ensures neurodivergent and disabled talent access, belonging, and opportunity to contribute meaningfully to their work and environment. Understanding neurodivergent culture is paramount for inclusive leadership.

Here's how you can overcome potential barriers to effective collaboration.
One of the most commonly occuring barriers to effective collaboration that I see in my work is lack of understanding about neurodiversity. Our neurotypes effect how we think, how we solve problems, how we approach solving problems, how we communicate ideas; the perspective we have on potential solutions, processes, and systems. A baseline awareness of neurodiversity and an ongoing practice of curiosity go a long way in facilitating successful collaboration. Neuroinclusive approaches invite us into a much more expansive collaborative experience that can move forward with innovation and efficiency rather than a collaboration that breaks down due to assumptions, biases, and lack of knowledge and awareness of neurodiversity.
