Once again, prevention would have been cheaper. Some of the key highlights of the report: "officials ignored repeated warnings", "lack of an incident response plan", "pass-through was created that allowed data traffic to move through firewalls", "firewalls had reached end-of-life status and were no longer receiving security upgrades". The conclusion? The attack has so far cost the county more than $25 million in remediation costs and other expenses". Putting in place proper cybersecurity prevention, detection, and response will always be cheaper than dealing with the aftermath of a successful cyberattack (and if some of the above statements apply to you, the attack will be successful). https://lnkd.in/gt-hKSkP #doyoucybersecure #cybersecurity #prevention

Excellent panel discussion. Some highlights: 1. Build human error into your programs - people are going to make mistakes. We must plan with that expectation in mind. 2. Threats come from all over! Elena was on an indian restaurant site which had been compromised and it attempted to install malware on her device but it was blocked 3. AI will shrink the time from vulnerability discovery to a working POC. AI generated code can greatly increase speed. 4. Data stored by third parties should be encrypted so that a compromise of the third party (increasingly common) does not expose your data. #cybersecurity
