Improve Margins with Manufacturers  ↪ Negotiate better rates now  ↪ Lower minimum order quantities Start improving your manufacturing relationships now to remain competitive. Start planning how to have these conversations while taking into account your manufacturer's needs.  2. Combat Competitive Pricing Pressure  ↪ Avoid getting sucked into underpricing ↪ Focus on maintaining healthy margins New sellers often lower prices without understanding profitability. This is completely unsustainable in the long term.  Sellers who improve margins now will be better positioned for the future.  Those who don't address this will struggle to stay profitable even a year from now. The wholesale industry is very antiquated, it hasn't really changed in over 30 years. You can still go to a Tradeshow and see half the sellers writing & processing orders with pen and paper. Now that's finally changing. If you go to a Tradeshow today, half the booths will have their Faire QR code up, and more buyers are asking sellers if they are on Faire. After deeply analyzing 1000s of Amazon keywords and their organic ranking behaviors, I've noticed some patterns... (The 6th point is what most sellers don't do enough of) Here are a few patterns I've learned: 1. Rank is tied at the keyword level. Getting a sale directly from your product listing does not help with rank.  2. Rank will always begin to fluctuate with a change in conversations. You will see your rank spike up and down constantly. This is Amazon's way of testing your listing at the ​Top of Search.  3. If your product's conversion rates are well above your competitors and ​t​he product has received enough conversion history, you will see a period of stability. You will see fewer variations within the rank fluctuations and eventually flatline​ at that position. 4. There is no timeline for ranking a keyword. It's a factor of volume and the quality of your offer (conversions relative to your competitors) 5. Rank is reactive (even with a ton of history). You'll see a rank change within 2-4 days when you get a keyword-directed sale today.  6. Don't feel too comfortable. You can track your competitors. If your rank drops, 9 out of 10 times it's because of something your competition did. Even with 1000s of conversions, you can be replaced by a new competitor with a much better offer. I’ve been having the same conversation with Amazon professionals over the past two weeks… This year’s Prime Day made it clear: Amazon’s new priority is to drive repeat purchase behavior and LTV. Here is how we're using Amazon's newest remarketing tools to drive repeat repeat purchase behavior for Cartograph clients: 1. Subscribe and Save (S&S) 🏷️ This is Amazon's most important tool for repeat purchases — It puts any product on auto-ship. In exchange, the seller offers a discount to the subscriber of anywhere between 5-15%. We’ve found that a S&S discount of 10% can drive up to a 1.8X increase in conversion! 2. Subscribe and Save Coupons 🛍️ This is a newer feature. Brands can now offer one-time discounts for consumers who subscribe to their products. Although some customers will cancel after their first order, the LTV from auto-ship customers will quickly exceed the cost of these coupons. It’s definitely worth trying. 3. Amazon Brand Follow 📦 This feature made waves last year when Amazon teased that it would allow a brand to message their consumers. Now, shoppers can “Follow” your brand on your Amazon store, enabling you to announce new releases and launch notifications when you post or go live. 4. Tailored Promotions & Coupons 🔜 This feature allows a brand to send push notifications (with attached coupons) to specific customer segments on Amazon. It’s also one of our new favorite features — Push notifications are about the highest value-add you can get, AND it’s free! 5. Retargeting and Remarketing 🎯 These ads target audiences who have visited your product pages or bought the product before — We recommend running these on the DSP console. (We have more details in the newsletter for how and when to run retargeted ads to potential customers.) 6.
