The SIGGRAPH Computer Animation Festival (comprising the VR Theater, Real-Time Graphics, the Electronic Theater and Production Sessions) celebrates storytelling through the prism of computer graphics. Since 1999 it has been recognized as a qualifying festival by the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences, with premiere shows twice a year at the two SIGGRAPH annual conferences in North America and Asia. Post conferences, the highlights are presented internationally as the Computer Animation Festival Traveling Show at partner festivals, conferences and chapters around the world.
Founded in 1969, ACM SIGGRAPH has grown from a handful of computer graphics enthusiasts to the largest organisation in the world for researchers, artists, developers, filmmakers and scientists practicing Computer Graphics & Interactive Techniques. Our community values excellence, passion, integrity, volunteerism, and cross-disciplinary interaction. We sponsor not only the annual SIGGRAPH conferences in North America and Asia, but also focused symposia, chapters in cities throughout the world, awards, grants, educational resources, online resources, a public policy program and traveling art show.
