Christopher Morgan
“Jake has had a monumental impact on the business success of both EarthLink and PeoplePC over the past seven years: He has built and maintained numerous business management tools and systems:
• ANIator
• Macalyzer
• Brain Browser
• Churn Browser
• Churn Toaster
• EarthLink churn Analysis scoring engine
• PeoplePC Survey Trendalyzer
• Muni WiFi demographic profiler
Jake built these tools from scratch and uses them and makes them available to the rest of the company. They have allowed insights and views into how the business performs and have enabled key stakeholders in Finance, Marketing, Channel Sales, EarthLink (dialup and Broadband) and PeoplePC Retention and Muni WiFi to develop programs and make key business decisions which have allowed EarthLink to survive and thrive in an extremely competitive marketplace.
He not only answers today’s regular and ad hoc questions, he builds proprietary solutions that will answer tomorrow’s questions as well. He continues to maintain and improve these tools; tweaking and evolving them to meet the changing demands of the business units by adding dimensions, coding exceptions, repurposing by product line, etc. He not only integrates best practices into every aspect of his work he develops, creates and allows best practices. He sets the bar and teaches others how to get there too.
Jake has a very positive attitude and is well liked by everyone he comes in contact with. His overall productivity is mind-numbing and it would take a team/department of people to replace him.
He has recently moved on from more of a back office role to lead PeoplePC’s consumer acquisition Marketing and overall Analytic efforts and in that time he has:
• Decreased overall Television MACs by 20%
• Exceeded monthly Marketing gross add forecasts in eight out of the past 10 months.
• Tested dozens of Solo Mail variables and beaten core 4 times (norm for a year is 2-3)
• Presented a session for the monthly PeoplePC lunch-and-learn series.
• Written sections of Budget and PLR presentations
• Managed 3 lines of the PeoplePC Marketing budget
• Hired and trained a Marketing and Research Analyst”
