You’re a film producer who wants to develop your creativity. What’s the best way to do it?
IMO, nothing educates a producer more than getting on set for a significant period of time during a production. Seeing the work that happens there translates the numbers behind cost into realistic understanding.

What are the best ways to weave multiple storylines into a film script?
My approach is to identify the characters who will be involved in the whole story. Then I decide how significant of a role they will play and if they are critical to the story how they will be related to the hero. If they are significant supporting characters, I develop a backstory plotline for their sub-story that reveals how and when they converge with the hero in the overall story. Stepping away from the hero's tale to weave in the supporting character's secondary story with fair frequency adds interest and helps the audience discover why the supporting character is important to the hero's journey.

How can you coordinate the music and sound effects department with other departments in film production?
Hire a Music Supervisor as early as possible. Rights to licensable music can be time consuming and expensive to acquire. The producer needs to confer very early to get a picture of the budget impacts that also helps the MS and determine latitude for target pieces. Once that's established and rights or contracts with composers/musicians secured, it becomes an exercise between the MS, editor and producer to position the music in the soundtrack.

What's the best way to pick a camera angle?
In my opinion, the choice of camera angles hinges upon the purpose of the scene. They epitomize the collaboration between the director and dp/cinematographer to capture the vision for the film. They are also a reflection of the camera package/lens choices available to the production as well as lighting. When chosen well, they have a defining influence on the film's tone.

Then he learns that Satterfield McCoy, an uncle who along with wife Minnie Ree, raised Brad after his parents were killed in an automobile accident with a drunken driver when he was a young child, died suddenly. Brad journeys back to Jacob’s Cross, the small rural Georgia community of his youth to attend the funeral, re-acquaint himself with relatives and friends, and seek a way forward for the remainder of his life. "Tetch" is a short drama script based upon short fiction I wrote of the same title that tells the story of a young man returning to the small rural community of his youth to attend the funeral of a favorite uncle who raised him as a child after his parents were killed in an automobile accident when the wake at the family home is interrupted by the raucous arrival of a veteran who's dealing with personal demons of his own.
The script is about half an hour and could be used as a proof of…"Tetch" is a short drama script based upon short fiction I wrote of the same title that tells the story of a young man returning to the small rural community of his youth to attend the funeral of a favorite uncle who raised him as a child after his parents were killed in an automobile accident when the wake at the family home is interrupted by the raucous arrival of a veteran who's dealing with personal demons of his own.
The script is about half an hour and could be used as a proof of concept for the larger work based upon my novella "Rituals of Solace".
