Had a great time yesterday on the ClubVMSA Live Chat, "Today's Buyer," with Jim Coughlin. We dove deep into some real important stuff about the industry, and here’s what stood out: - Oil & Gas 101 – We broke down the basics, walking through the Upstream, Midstream, and Downstream sides of the business. Just giving folks a high-level overview of how this whole process flows. - AI in the Industry – AI is making moves, especially with suppliers. I shared how it’s changing the game in recruiting—like using it to filter resumes faster and more accurately. - DEI Initiatives – Thanks to a great question from an attendee, we touched on the importance of DEI. It’s critical for suppliers to not only be aware but actually implement these initiatives. Regular updates during scorecarding are a must. - Supplier Optimization – Over the past year, we’ve been focused on right-sizing the supplier base. Why? Because a tighter supplier base means more candidates per supplier instead of spreading them thin and leaving them with just 1 or 2 workers. - Worker Classification & Compliance – Coming up, we’ve got to talk about the risks of misclassifying workers. It’s an issue that can’t be ignored and one we’ll be tackling over the next 6 months.
