Continual learning must involve more than staying up to date in economics, models or business research. Rather, you need to better understand the real world around you from culture to politics to geography to regulatory/law - most people relying on forecasting models got much of the pandemic economy for 4 years flat wrong. There is a wealth of knowledge and insight available for people who are widely read and paying attention to domains outside economics and business. Forecasting is often about imagination and discernment, in that investigating outliers, imagining scenarios, and understanding how models can be tweaked or improved require these to be the best possible.
