    The Tramuto Foundation provides grants to help youths with special challenges overcome adversity and build the confidence necessary to achieve personal excellence. With a mentoring program associated with each scholarship, students are provided with a unique opportunity to be inspired from amazing leaders from all walks of life. Since the first scholarship awarded in May, 2002, many hundreds of young people across the Globe have been helped through some form of financial and mentoring…

    The Tramuto Foundation provides grants to help youths with special challenges overcome adversity and build the confidence necessary to achieve personal excellence. With a mentoring program associated with each scholarship, students are provided with a unique opportunity to be inspired from amazing leaders from all walks of life. Since the first scholarship awarded in May, 2002, many hundreds of young people across the Globe have been helped through some form of financial and mentoring assistance. For example and at an orphanage in Cambodia, students were educated on the English language knowing that their lot in life would be more viable if they could speak English.

    At the 5th anniversary of the Foundation in October 2006, a Grant program was added to the organization with a focus around supporting organizations whose goal it was to make the world a more just and fair place. Nearly 100 organizations have been supported by the Foundation including a workplace dignity program at the Robert F Kennedy Center, a Human Rights Endowment at the Ogunquit Playhouse, a Compassionate Leadership Endowment at Boston University School of Public Health, an Infant and Pediatric Nutrition program in Haiti and Kenya, and many other programs addressing health care access.

    On September 11, 2021 and marking the 20th anniversary of the Foundation, a new program focused on compassion and kindness was added to the Charter of the Foundation with a focus around creating a movement for a more compassionate and kinder world.

At its national conference in 2018, n4a recognized Donato Tramuto for his efforts to support disaster recovery efforts for seniors affected by Hurricanes Harvey, Irma and Maria.

This award honors leaders of the international business, entertainment and activist communities who are committed to social change. Mr. Tramuto is the CEO and chairman of Physicians Interactive, Inc., which uses digital communications to improve connections and build trust between physicians and life sciences companies in order to improve health care processes. He led the development of many health care programs, including the first HIV/AIDS Arthur Ashe workplace education program in 1991 and the launch of a national HIV provider network focused on comprehensive disease management. Mr. Tramuto founded the Tramuto Foundation, which provides grants to children with special challenges, in honor of 2 friends and their son who were killed on September 11, 2001.
