Parker, PhD and Frank Van Atta, is a non-denominational 501(c)3 arts and education organization, based in the Chestnut Hill neighborhood of Philadelphia, that proudly administers three distinct programs (Keystone State Boychoir, Pennsylvania Girlchoir, Find Your Instrument!) that typically serves more than 600 singers annually. CY has grown tremendously in 20 years, from one program with 37 students to four programs with more than 600 students. More than half of the singers attend under-resourced schools in high poverty neighborhoods.
Through exceptional training in choral singing and numerous cultural programs, young singer musicians have many opportunities to develop leadership skills while also learning to work together to achieve a common goal. Diversity by all measures is one of CY's core values; we aim to represent, through our participating choristers, a broad spectrum of the Philadelphia region.
CY is transforming young lives through the power of making music together... one song at a time.
