    The CEO program is a national model for youth entrepreneurial education that offers high school students the opportunity to immerse themselves in a dynamic and authentic learning environment tied to the challenges and opportunities in the local community. The model connects students to community leaders through business visits, guest speakers and mentorship. It challenges them to become great communicators, networkers, problem solvers, and creative thinkers. The discovery learning environment has two culminating experiences for program participants: a team-built class business, and a real individual business which is showcased at a pitch competition and a trade show event. There are 62 programs nationwide in 9 states and two in Ohio.

All are appointed by the chief elected officials, which are the Richland and Crawford County Commissioners. Some of the responsibilities of the Board are:

    • Lead efforts to engage a diverse range of employers and other entities in the region.
    • Lead efforts to develop and implement career pathways.
    • Lead efforts in the local area to identify and promote proven and promising strategies and initiatives for meeting the needs of employers, workers, and job seekers.
    • Conduct oversight of the adult, dislocated worker, and youth programs and the entire OhioMeansJobs delivery system, ensure the appropriate use and management of WIOA funds, and ensure the appropriate use, management, and investment of funds to maximize performance outcomes.
