“David worked for me on several different projects while at IBM. He did the majority of UX design and development for a Risk Visual Analytics platform shown in this video on YouTube: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gSlWapg5HcE -- The goal was to aggregate risk across various facets of the organization making it easy to identify areas needing attention. David worked with d3js.org content and developed both front and backend code for the risk data graph queries and visualizations. He worked out the event based websocket communications to allow multiple stations to share visualizations and to drive remote demonstrations. David also worked for me on a complex, distributed situation awareness framework to enable actors to use voice communications to identify problems, search procedures, and be alerted when a situation was degraded. This system involved multiple asynchronous server side applications communicating over pub/sub Kafka infrastructure and involved websocket communications to endpoint servers supporting multiple clients (browsers). He also worked out complex speech to text logging to provide a feedback loop for unrecognized commands, and a complete simulation framework to enable actors to be trained in different situations played back on-demand. He also developed a content parsing framework to transform XML content into a knowledge graph for procedure queries, and he developed both the underlying HTML5 component architecture and widgets used for the user experience. This UX provided real-time reporting of alert conditions and both speech, text, and graphics enabled commands and responses leveraging IBM Watson components. David is a personable, hard working, intelligent person who has a long history with web design and development (was involved in very early website design/dev). His experience in devops and agile methods enables him to provide quick prototypes and demonstrations, as well as sound code able to be placed in production. He would be a great asset for any web or distributed framework project. I highly recommend him.”
