DOTA PEG https://lnkd.in/gj4QuzGX DOTA PEG linkers are an important class of molecules widely used in pharmaceutical research and development. These linkers are composed of a DOTA chelator and a polyethylene glycol (PEG) chain. The DOTA moiety is used to bind to metal ions such as copper, gallium or lutetium, while the PEG chain provides stability and solubility to the resulting conjugate. The use of it is particularly relevant in the development of targeted molecular imaging and therapy. By conjugating the DOTA PEG linker to a targeting molecule, such as an antibody or a small molecule ligand, it is possible to selectively deliver a therapeutic agent to specific cells or tissues in the body. Additionally, the DOTA chelator can be used to label the resulting conjugate with a radioactive isotope, allowing for non-invasive imaging of the target site. DOTA PEG linkers have also been employed in the development of novel therapeutics for the treatment of cancer, neurological disorders and inflammatory diseases. These linkers can improve the pharmacokinetic properties of the resulting drug conjugate, such as increasing its half-life and reducing its immunogenicity.

#lipidomics - As a recognized leader in the lipidomics field, BPGbio was very excited to have Michael Kiebish, Ph.D., our Vice President of Platform Sciences participate in the Gordon Research Conferences (Gordon International Lipidomics GRS and GRC conference entitled “Toward Functional Lipidomics: Structure Elucidation, Quantification, Data Integration and Clinical Translation” in Barga Italy this past week.   Michael sat on a panel of ‘Meet the Experts’ with top leaders of the field such as Xianlin Han (University of Texas Health Science Center at San Antonio, United States) during the GRS meeting to guide future leaders on a successful career in lipidomics as well as a discussion Leader for a session on "Tracing Lipid Metabolism" with several world leaders in the field. Both Michael Kiebish, Ph.D. and Juan J. Michael J Mitchell et al. continue to innovate and impress with their new single step #LNP formulation technique ("click-like chemistry"). They have also found a way to lojack and track these particles to better target specific organs. "We've developed what we call an amidine-incorporated degradable (AID) lipid, a uniquely structured biodegradable molecule," Mitchell says. "Think of it as an easy-to-build custom mRNA vehicle with a body kit that informs its navigation system. By adjusting its shape and degradability, we can enhance mRNA delivery into cells in a safe manner. By adjusting the amount of the AID lipid that we incorporate into the LNP, we can also guide it to different organs in the body, much like programming different destinations into a GPS."
