Measuring axial thrust with non-contact pickup methods is a sophisticated approach that minimizes mechanical interference and wear, providing accurate and reliable data for various applications. Here’s an overview of how this can be accomplished:  Eddy Current Sensors Eddy current sensors use electromagnetic induction to measure the displacement of a target object. When a conductive material moves within the sensor’s magnetic field, it induces eddy currents, which affect the sensor’s output signal. This change is proportional to the displacement, which can be correlated to axial thrust. Advantages: High precision and resolution. Suitable for harsh environments (temperature, pressure). No physical contact with the target, reducing wear and tear. Applications: Turbines, compressors, and high-speed machinery.  Applications of Proximity Probes in Axial Thrust Measurement Proximity probes are widely used in various applications, including: 1. Turbines Measuring axial position of the rotor to ensure it stays within operational limits.
