November 2016 * Hyatt Regency Baltimore * Baltimore, MD USA
Co-located with 7th International Battery Safety 2016 Conference
Significant increases in the global demand for lithium-based batteries have created exciting breakthroughs in next generation Li-ion and beyond lithium battery technologies. From micro medical devices to high-energy/high-power automotive applications, these breakthroughs have paved the way for an emerging market with unlimited potential. The 11th International Conference on Lithium Battery Power will focus on two distinct tracks, materials & commercialization, these conference tracks will address critical issues facing the industry, present innovative advancements in research on lithium batteries, and foster cross-industry discussions on ways to take viable technologies from research to practical application and manufacturing.
Lithium Battery Power Track 1: Commercialization & Manufacturing
One of the greatest challenges to creating higher performing, lower cost batteries is moving these emerging technologies from research to market. The commercialization and manufacturing track will guide you through device packaging, integration and manufacturing in a full spectrum of lithium-ion batteries applications currently on the market.
Lithium Battery Power Track 2: Chemistry, Materials & Modeling
Breakthroughs in novel battery chemistries, novel electrode/electrolyte materials, high capacity cathodes/anodes and system integration have delivered a vast array of automotive, portable and stationary applications. Significant innovation in research and engineering for energy storage technologies in lithium-ion batteries combined with significant achievements in safety and reliability have propelled this technology to the forefront of innovation.

Aberration detection – Define and prioritize R&D needed to establish the baseline condition of the environment and/or human (including vulnerable subpopulations), animal, or plant populations that is sufficiently robust to permit rapid identification of aberrant incidents to drive preparedness and timely, focused investigation.
Risk anticipation – Define and prioritize R&D needed to identify antecedent conditions and characterize complex interactions that permit prediction of an impending natural or intentional incident and to forecast impacts from such incidents.
Threat identification and characterization – Define and prioritize R&D needed to ensure exposures and health threats are identified rapidly and accurately and can be sufficiently characterized to provide needed information to decision makers, including responders and healthcare providers.
Information integration, analysis, and sharing – Define and prioritize R&D needed to enable improved integration, sharing, and analysis of BSV data in near real-time and in a format that provides essential information to decision makers, including responders and healthcare providers.

Rapid Detection In Food Safety 2016
- Present
In the U.S. alone, there are an estimated 47.8 million illnesses, over 127,000 hospitalizations and 3,000-plus deaths attributed to foodborne illness each year. Traditional means for microbial detection can no longer match the pace of today’s food processing and global distribution networks. Emerging rapid sensor and detection platforms can provide the timely and actionable information needed to lessen the human and economic burdens levied by foodborne disease.

The Rapid Detection for Food Safety Conference will feature presentations on emerging optical, nanotechnological, spectroscopic and electrochemical technologies for pathogen detection, including label-free and high-throughput methods. Novel ligands for pathogen capture will also be examined. Benefits and challenges of these new methods and their comparison with existing techniques will be discussed. Label-free approaches and the advantages of novel bioaffinity ligands will be highlighted.Other creatorsSee project -
