While we're waiting for AI to revolutionize our industries, it’s busy accessorizing felines with high-tech gear for their imaginary space missions. This might not be the AI revolution we expected, but it's certainly an entertaining placeholder! As we chuckle over our cosmic cat creations, let’s also ponder on this: What truly revolutionary applications of AI are we missing out on while settling for the safe and the known? The potential is vast and largely untapped. Let's not let our creativity be outpaced by our caution—or our humor!

Re Generative AI- it's a guzzler... of water. Current estimates say that every prompt you give a generative AI system (not each session, every prompt) is like pouring a 16oz bottle of water on the ground. Yikes! Hopefully we can figure out a more ecologically friendly way to satisfy the growing generative AI phenomenon. https://lnkd.in/g7fcyKyB

🌟 Discovering the Genius of Leslie Lamport 🌟 Hey everyone! I just stumbled upon the work of Leslie Lamport, and I’m totally blown away. As someone diving into computer science, it’s incredible to learn about people who have made such a huge impact on the field. Leslie Lamport is a Turing Award winner who’s changed the way computers communicate and work together. His work in distributed systems is the backbone of things like the internet, cloud computing, and AI. Here are some cool things I found out: 1. LaTeX: Back in the 80s, he created LaTeX, which is this awesome tool for making complex scientific documents look super professional. Definitely something I need to get better at! 2. Paxos Algorithm: This blew my mind. The Paxos algorithm, which he came up with in 1989, helps multiple computers work together to complete tasks. It's a key part of modern computing. Key use case of the Paxos Algorithm : Global leaders in financial services use Paxos' platform and APIs to build their blockchain and digital asset solutions. 3. Formal Verification: Lamport has been a pioneer in using mathematical proofs to make sure software and hardware are error-free. He created TLA (Temporal Logic of Actions) for this, which sounds both intimidating and fascinating. He also worked on problems with cool names like the bakery algorithm and the Byzantine Generals Problem, which I’m excited to dive into more. Learning about Leslie Lamport has been super inspiring. It’s amazing to see how his work impacts what we do today, and it definitely motivates me to keep pushing forward in exploring the things.
