Be sure that you’ve established safety and trust. Help the team member see and understand what opportunities exist to build capacity. Align plans to goals and monitor program including any challenges that might come up along the way. Even the best laid plans might need a tweak here and there. Be pro human being on a journey from where they are to greatness.

By bringing together individuals from different age groups, organizations can tap into a diverse range of perspectives, experiences, and expertise. Younger generations often possess technological proficiency, fresh ideas, and adaptability to change, while older generations offer wisdom, institutional knowledge, and strategic thinking. This collaboration can foster innovation, enhance problem-solving capabilities, and promote effective, diverse decision-making.

Certainly can't measure what isn't clear. Whether its person or organizational, I advocate for being with an intended impact statement or framework. What would success look like, and work back on how best to ask and answer key questions. If you are working on solving a community "problem" best to involve the community in defining the success. I really like third-party conducted interviews to define the problem and inform the solution.

Evaluate how your goals align with your current work. If they do and your learning would enhance what you currently do, that's a really important conversation to drive even better performance and outcomes. If your goal expands your contribution beyond your current role, your supervisor could be a good support to your next best step. This, of course, works best when you supervisor is a supporting life-long learning. If that isn't the case, you may want to set the goal of exploring other options to achieving your preferred career path in an organizational culture of support.

For me, it’s grounded in human dignity and allowing people to show up as they are and grow from there. Servant leadership is transformative at that stage of the game.

When people are seen, heard, and respected they are more cohesive and better motivated (inspired) really to go the extra mile AND keep proper boundaries and balance.
