The past few years have been extremely challenging for the transportation and logistics industry. Major companies like Yellow/YRC closed, leaving 30,000 people jobless, Convoy has shut down operations, and Transplus has filed for bankruptcy. The list of hardships continues. According to CarrierOK, nearly 88,000 trucking companies and 8,000 freight brokerages ceased operations last year. While this year didn't start on a positive note, the industry is showing signs of improvement. The sector is in a state of constant change and evolution. #Hermanntds has demonstrated remarkable adaptability, which has helped us move in the right direction. However, just when things seem to be getting better, another significant setback arises. Recently, Texas-based U.S. Logistics Solutions filed for bankruptcy liquidation, impacting over 2,000 employees. Ten Oaks Group, the investor, disputes this number, claiming there were only 864 direct employees, 305 contractors and temporary workers, and 57 owner-operators. Regardless of the exact figures, it is a deeply unfortunate situation. I am saddened for everyone affected. Port of LA topples Laredo, Texas, as top US trade gateway for July In July, the Port of Los Angeles reclaimed its position as the top U.S. trade gateway, surpassing Laredo, Texas, for the first time in 15 months, according to Census Bureau data. The Port of LA saw a 24% year-over-year increase in trade, reaching $30 billion, while Laredo ranked second with $28.3 billion. Chicago O’Hare International Airport followed at $24.4 billion. Trade growth at LA was driven by increased imports from China, while Laredo's trade rose 9% year over year. Mexico remained the top U.S. trade partner, with $70.7 billion in commerce, followed by Canada and China. Key exports from Mexico included computers, passenger vehicles, and commercial vehicles, while top U.S. imports to Mexico were fuels, auto parts, and computer parts. Good Friday morning from Bulldog Logistics. PMA thought for the day. Prioritize you day. The 4 Tiers of Efficiency. Tier 1- Absolutely Mission Critical; If these activities don't happen the Team does not stay afloat. Tier1 should have no more than 5 responsibilities daily. Tier2- Very Important and Strategic; Tier 2 activities matter a lot, but if you don't do these thing the plane will not crash. Tier 3- Meaningful but not Vital; Activities we enjoy and value but they aren't essential. Tier 4- Externally Initiated and Low Priority; external request not mission critical. These are bonus items that only get done if the other Tiers are completed.

REPOWR Market Update Markets: - IB and OB PHX activity has been increasing sequentially WoW for the past ~ 4 weeks - IB and OB OH trailers showing meaningful traction with ~40% greater reservation volume than the trailing 3 weeks - TX heating up - DAL, HOU, and Laredo seeing ~30% more activity MoM, with IB Laredo requests spiking ~70% WoW Pricing: - Dry vans down ~$2/day MoM as spot rates stay depressed - Reefers down ~5/day MoM even as spot rates trend up - Flatbeds up ~4/day MoM Take aways: - Trailer activity picking up in secondary and tertiary freight markets, suggesting a volume uptick, at least OB in these markets - Pricing spread is the widest it has ever been between primary markets and the aforementioned markets Other take aways: - I'll be taking the rest of this week off because I don't want to have the quality of my work checked. That's how DOT Blitz week works right?
