Wrote, edited, and laid-out articles for bi-annual magazine about Ehlers-Danlos Syndrome (EDS). Managed all financial matters, including federal/state non-profit applications, bookkeeping, banking and financial reporting. Created website and organized fundraising activities. Distributed information to new members and physicians. Coordinated first annual EDS Awareness Month and International Awareness Campaign in February 2002.

Deployed to Operation Kick the King in Chicago doing PPE distribution in May 2020. Also worked on several "blue sky" projects in Indiana working with SAWS to build wheelchair ramps and Brookside Community Development Corporation working on home reconstruction.

The Emergency Disaster Services of the Salvation Army provides support to those responding to disaster situations. As a volunteer, I assist with events by working in the Salvation Army Emergency Disaster Services mobile canteen, providing food and support to those working on disaster response, training drills, and other educational events.

The IndyCERT Alumni Association is an all volunteer, non-profit organization created to organize and maintain the skill levels of CERT graduates. We accomplish this by supporting and attending ongoing emergency preparedness training. Members are encouraged to achieve a high level of preparedness and provide volunteer support to the Indianapolis Division of Homeland Security in the event of a major emergency.

The Community Emergency Response Team (CERT) is an organization that trains volunteers to be prepared to respond to emergency situations in their communities. When a disaster strikes, CERT volunteers provide critical support to first responders, immediate assistance to victims, and organize spontaneous volunteers at a disaster site. Trained emergency personnel are best equipped to respond, but CERT volunteers are trained to support responders before they arrive on scene. Members use a combination of CERT training and community knowledge to serve their neighbors in times of disaster.

CERT volunteers can assist with non-emergency projects that improve the overall safety of the community. During non-emergency situations, CERT members educate their communities about disaster preparedness through the Indianapolis Division of Homeland Security community disaster networks. In the Indianapolis area, the CERT program has a role for everyone. Show less
