Pay attention to your body's response around this person. You can lead with empathy BUT if there is toxic behavior, recognize the warning signs in your body. You'll feel it, you'll internally know if this person is safe to be empathetic to. We can always lead with love and understanding and we should but not to the detriment of our own health. Trust your internal radar.

I always survey my audience before putting together any content from a keynote to training. Understanding your audience will make you more relevant and help the audience feel more safe so they can effectively take action toward behavior change. That's the point of leadership development - transformation!

Failure is inevitable and something to embrace so that you can build that courage muscle that takes action to create their results.

Reflect on when you feel the most fear, guilt, anxiety, or anger. These are low-level energy sources that hold us back however usually hold the secret to what unmet need we may still be carrying through our lives. A "trigger" is just an alert that something is out of alignment for our soul. Start to reflect on those thoughts and bodily feelings that are produced during that "trigger event". Then ask, where is this coming from? What is the opposite behavior or thought I can choose to counteract the reaction? What is the truth in this moment?

Your niche is often based on your life experiences, adversities that you've overcome. So look back at not just your corporate accomplishments but what have you helped people through, what kind of challenge or adversity have you overcome?

Feelings like fear, rejection, and loss may come up but those are just human emotions reacting to a big life change. In reality, a door of opportunity just opened for you to serve another organization, create a business, and re-align your career with your purpose. So, what opportunity just opened up as a previous chapter concluded?
