His Excellency Engineer Sherif El-Sherbiny, Minister of Housing, Utilities, and Urban Communities, held a meeting yesterday evening, Monday, with Dr. Mohamed Mandour, Chairman of the Arab Contractors Facilities Management Company (a subsidiary of the Arab Contractors), and company officials to discuss the use of advanced solutions for the management, operation, and maintenance of the drinking water and sewage system. The meeting was attended by Dr Sayed Ismail, the deputy minister; Engineer Ameen Ghuneim, Deputy Head of the New Urban Communities Authority for Development and Urban Development; Dr Mohamed Hassan, CEO of the Water and Wastewater Regulatory Authority and Consumer Protection; Engineer Ahmed Abdelkader, Head of the Executive Authority for Drinking Water and Sanitation; and members of the minister’s technical office. The Minister of Housing directed to maximize the role of the Arab Contractors Facilities Management Company, considering it one of the ministry's arms, to elevate the level of national companies operating in the field of operation and maintenance, aiming to achieve the best level of operation and maintenance of water and sewage facilities, residential projects, and other development projects while preserving assets and extending their lifespan. The minister also instructed to expand the use of smart solutions according to the actual needs for managing, operating, and maintaining various projects to improve the level of services provided to citizens, achieve governance, regulate the operation and maintenance system, reduce costs, and start applying smart solutions in some projects as a step towards wider implementation. During the meeting, officials from the Arab Contractors Facilities Management Company presented advanced solutions based on Internet of Things (IoT) technologies for managing and monitoring wastewater treatment plants. These solutions were designed and manufactured locally, aiming to improve operational efficiency through advanced technologies that enable continuous monitoring and immediate control of various equipment and systems within the drinking water and sewage treatment plants. They added that the smart solutions provided by the Arab Contractors for managing wastewater treatment plants represent a qualitative leap in improving operational efficiency, reducing resource consumption, and saving foreign currency while encouraging local industry. By integrating these solutions with IoT systems and asset management programs, the company enables facilities to benefit from advanced technologies that enhance environmental sustainability, reduce operational costs, and ensure high quality with fully Egyptian local manufacturing. #Egypt #IoT #automation #facilitymanagement #EAM #operation
