Environmental sampling programs for the pharmacy cleanroom should be designed to provide information demonstrating that the engineering controls, sanitization processes, and work practices collectively provide an environment consistently capable of maintaining acceptable microbial levels. Identification must be emphasized so those trends can be corrected before the environment, or ultimately the product, is adversely affected.
