Disclosure of endorsement for sponsored posts

Last updated: 6 months ago

As the author of an organic post that's displayed on your personal LinkedIn profile, you can automatically approve requests to have your posts sponsored as a thought leader ad.

If your employer is promoting your post

If you are an employee of the company who is promoting your post and you approve the sponsorship request, you’re responsible for ensuring the disclosure of your relationship with that company. When your employer promotes your post, it will display Promoted by [company name] on the post.

Some examples of how you can do this include:

  • Updating your profile headline to include your role at the company.
  • Adding hashtags such as #[InsertCompanyName]Employee or #SponsoredPost in a visible section of your organic post.

If you are not an employee of the company who is promoting your post

When a company who is not your employer promotes your post, it will display Promoted - Partnership with [company name] on the post. You should also add any additional disclosures necessary, including through hashtags.
