Majlinda Bregu. PhD couldn't have been more politically correct than this point: “The idiom ‘Learning by doing’ is going to be the name of the game when it comes to the region entering the EU Single Market. All of us that have been feeling disappointed by more than six rounds of unsuccessful enlargement have enough reasons to believe that the entry into the Single Market is going to be something we can achieve in the near future. New phase of the Common Regional Market may not change the whole situation in the Western Balkans, but it is going to bring the region closer together, fast-tracking its much-needed convergence,” https://lnkd.in/dDxj7NY3

Policy Analysis at OECD - OCDE | Partnerships for Development, Triangular Co-operation, South-South Co-operation
We had an intense and productive day of discussions yesterday at the VII Regional Conference on Trilateral Cooperation! More than 100 participants from over 15 countries joined us in person, with many more participating online. My key takeaways from the day: 🔔Local engagement is essential for achieving sustainable development outcomes. Trilateral cooperation promotes horizontal relationships, peer learning, and the sharing of knowledge and expertise. This approach fosters southern-led development and helps shift the narrative within the development cooperation community. 🔔Despite significant progress, there's still much untapped potential in this modality. On the other hand, the debate and engagement in Latin America and the Caribbean have advanced remarkably over the past decades. The region boasts numerous successful examples, capacity-building experiences, and innovative financing mechanisms, making it ready to share its expertise with the world. The second day is now underway! As this year marks the 25th anniversary of EU Twinning, we at NIRAS would like to express our excitement to continue a partnership we have been nurturing for seven years. ✅ Since 2016, NIRAS has been providing advisory and training services to the Swedish International Development Cooperation Agency (Sida) and Swedish public authorities, supporting and building their competence in two EU instruments for partnership and growth – namely, EU Twinning and Technical Assistance and Information Exchange (TAIEX). 🤝 This year, our focus has been on increasing the number of Swedish authorities active in EU Twinning and TAIEX projects and collaborations and strengthening these entities’ capabilities in winning new projects. 🏅 The aims of providing this particular support include: ✍ Increasing Swedish authorities' knowledge of and opportunities to win and implement EU-funded collaborations including Twinning and TAIEX; ✍ Making EU Twinning more accessible and increasing interest in the instrument among Swedish authorities; ✍ Increasing the interaction and exchange of experience between authorities regarding EU Twinning. Recently, NIRAS hosted a digital network meeting for Swedish public authorities in partnership with Sida. At the event, lessons learned from EU Twinning during the last 25 years were shared by the Directorate-General for Neighbourhood and Enlargement Negotiations (DG NEAR) and an EU Twinning cooperation between Lithuania and Sweden in labour market development. 📑 Much of the meeting was dedicated to networking and dialogue, further strengthening Sida’s and Swedish public authorities’ ability to work together in facilitating their involvement in international development cooperation through EU Twinning and TAIEX. 💪 (Image source: Pexels) #NIRASNews #EUTwinning #TAIEX #InstitutionBuilding
