Yesterday, our team had the incredible opportunity to attend the Brainstorming 2024 Event, featuring local and national industry speakers Lori Snider, Robyn Cue, Terri Norvell, and Toni Blake. Our team members gained valuable insights into elevated industry trends in Sales, Management, Communication, and Consumer Trends. Our Director of Talent & Branding, Clover Sharpe, was invited to facilitate breakout brainstorming sessions. We are proud of her contributions and the impact she made. Learning moments like these are truly invaluable, and we are grateful for the experience. Proceeds benefited Entryway, a fantastic organization helping individuals and families experiencing situational homelessness transition to housing stability and economic self-sufficiency. Watch the transformation of Notable, where we turned a vacant, 4-story, 160,000 SF office building in Lakewood into 218 units of affordable housing, complete with an interior courtyard. This remarkable project is a model of adaptive reuse and hosts the Lakewood School of Music, further enriching the community. We’re thrilled to share that we recently partnered with the incredible Tasha L. Jones for a transformative DEIB learning session on Building Inclusive Leadership! This event was a huge success, bringing our associates (across all departments) closer together and deepening our commitment to fostering a culture of belonging at Zocalo. A highlight of the event was the breakout session on lived experiences, where team members shared personal stories about their backgrounds and journeys. This powerful exercise fostered deeper connections and understanding within our team, emphasizing the impact of empathy and authentic communication. Tasha’s expertise in leadership, team building, diversity outreach, and community development made this event truly impactful. We are excited to continue our journey toward a more inclusive and equitable workplace. A big thank you to everyone who participated and chose to be vulnerable.
