This transformative investment supports the Zilber Faculty Excellence Fund and the Vera Zilber Student Program Fund, advancing health equity for Milwaukee's residents. We are honored to continue Joe and Vera Zilber’s legacy, promoting public health and preventing disease through this historic gift. Together, we’re building a brighter, healthier future for all.

Lianna Bishop, Operations Director, joined the Zilber Family Foundation team in 2021. Lianna advances the Foundation’s mission through her contributions to the Foundation’s communications, strategy and operational excellence, driving our philanthropic initiatives forward.

Earlier this month, the first round of payments were distributed to Milwaukee moms participating in The Bridge Project. The Zilber Family Foundation is excited to announce that its Board of Directors approved 28 grants totaling $3.8M at the April 2024 board meeting! The grants aim to invest in nonprofit organizations working to enhance the well-being of individuals, families, and neighborhoods. The Foundation generally considers requests for funding three times per year in each of our grantmaking programs: the Zilber Neighborhood Initiative, Legacy, Hawaii, and Capacity Building. We are thrilled to share that first payments were distributed for Milwaukee moms participating in The Bridge Project! For the first two years of their babies lives, moms will receive unconditional cash to be spent on anything – food, formula, rent, childcare, diapers – truly, whatever the parent decides, no strings attached. We believe that mothers know what is best for the well-being of their families and are proud to support them.
