Founded in 1924, Zachry Corporation is a privately-owned construction and materials company with headquarters in San Antonio, Texas and regional offices throughout the United States. We offer the following products and services for transportation and heavy construction: *general construction *project development *construction development services *cement and multiple aggregates In the decades since we completed our first project - a series of bridges constructed with the help of mule-drawn graders in 1924 - Zachry has pioneered techniques that have become the basis of modern heavy construction. We even hold the record for the largest concrete slip form for a runway built at the Dallas Fort Worth Airport in 1973. The Zachry Corporation was formed in 2008 in a realignment of the enterprise's construction activities. Our ability to build and maintain infrastructure complements our financial stability and strong private / public partnerships. Our employees use cutting-edge processes and technology to create structures that make a difference. These 1980s milestones highlight Zachry's pursuit of excellence and innovation in infrastructure. Fratt Interchange- North Loop 410/IH35 (San Antonio, TX): The $63.5 million reconstruction of the North Loop 410/IH35 interchange was groundbreaking. Using a "reinforced earth system" for retaining walls, Zachry completed the project nearly a year ahead of schedule, setting new standards in highway construction. Raleigh Durham Airport Taxiway: This $14 million project involved moving 320,000 cubic yards of dirt and rock. DFW Airport (Dallas, TX): A monumental $57.3 million project, paving two 11,400-foot-long runways with twin 100-foot-wide taxiways at DFW Airport was historic. Enough concrete to blanket Monaco in a three-foot-thick slab underscores the scale of Zachry’s contribution to one of the world's busiest airports. Missi Falls Hydroelectric Dam (Manitoba, Canada): With ice roads spanning 180 miles from the nearest railroad, logistics were complex. In the transformative 1960s, Zachry had projects that took them abroad, underscoring a commitment to innovation and excellence. Kwajalein Atoll - Nike Zeus Testing Facilities (Kwajalein Atoll, Marshall Islands): Zachry's first major overseas project took them 5,500 miles from San Antonio, TX, to the Marshall Islands. Constructing the Nike Zeus testing facilities for $3.2 million showcased Zachry’s international capabilities. Hilton Palacio del Rio: The "Palace of the River" in San Antonio, TX, was innovative and efficiently built with modular construction, methods in which Zachry obtained patents. Zachry completed the 500-room hotel in an astonishing 202 working days, ahead of schedule for the 1968 World’s Fair.
