Safety is a top priority within the YTI culture. The Safety Committee at YTI convenes monthly to focus on various safety projects, both large and small. These initiatives help us foster collaboration, inspire new ideas, and continuously enhance our safety environment for everyone who visits and works at YTI.   In today's meeting, there are changes within the committee as we bid farewell to Axel Rael-Sato as one of our co-chairmen and welcome Dennis Tousseau as the new co-chairman, alongside the existing Chairman, Phillip Healey. On behalf of the YTI team, we express our sincere gratitude to Axel Rael-Sato for his commitment and outstanding safety leadership. We also extend a warm welcome to Dennis Tousseau!    “Collaboration – Caring – Commitment = The YTI Way”

Today, Yusen Terminals marked a historic milestone at the Port of Los Angeles with the debut of the nation's first five commercially available battery-electric top handlers at a marine terminal. These Taylor ZLC 996 electric machines, crafted by skilled union members in the USA, will dramatically reduce Yusen’s carbon footprint, and pioneer a greener future for port operations nationwide. Our President and CEO, Alan McCorkle, along with the Yusen team were privileged to have Gene Seroka, Executive Director of the Port of Los Angeles, Robert Taylor, President and CEO of Taylor Machine Works Inc., representatives from ONE, ILWU, CARB, as well as City and Port officials, local agencies, union and community leaders, and delegates from the Consulate General of Japan and freight industry in attendance to commemorate this monumental achievement. Top handlers play a crucial role in port operations by efficiently transferring containers from trucks and trains. While traditionally powered by diesel engines, the introduction of these five brand-new electric top handlers represents a significant achievement in Yusen Terminals' continuous dedication to environmental sustainability and operational efficiency.

Yusen Terminals is pleased to announce the introduction of a new joint vessel service by ONE and Wan Hai. The inaugural vessel of this service, the “Seaspan Beyond," arrived at Yusen Terminals on June 9th and departed on June 13th. A welcome ceremony was held, during which we presented a plaque from the Port of Los Angeles to the captain to commemorate the vessels’ first arrival to YTI. We are honored to have this new service and welcome Wan Hai as a distinguished Ocean Carrier at our facility.

A huge thank you to everyone who contributed to yesterday's successful engagement meeting! We discussed how the Wan Hai drayage community can maximize Yusen Terminals' array of tools for safe and efficient container pickup and delivery. At Yusen Terminals, safety and success are intertwined, and it was inspiring to see such dedication from all attendees towards these shared goals. #YusenTerminals #Drayage #SafetyFirst
