About us

Launched in 2023 in collaboration with Citi, Deloitte, Salesforce, the San Francisco Chamber of Commerce, the World Economic Forum, and more than 20 organizations, Yes SF is the first location-based UpLink Challenge created in direct response to the United Nations’ Sustainable Development Goal 11 of making cities more inclusive, safe, resilient, and sustainable. Yes SF draws on the ingenuity of 14 Top Innovators – selected for their potential to bring new life and increased value to buildings, infrastructure, and outdoor areas in downtown San Francisco. Yes SF seeks not only to revitalize downtown San Francisco, but also to set a precedent for sustainable urban living worldwide. It’s become more than a challenge; it’s a call to action for everyone who believes in the power of innovation to help shape a better future. Join us in saying “Yes” to San Francisco!

Coming to a city near you? 🌳🌇 These five start-ups are turning grey to green... 56% of the world live in cities. This will be a whopping 70% by 2050 These innovators are working to make our urban jungles greener, cleaner, and more resilient to climate change. Who did I miss? WATG and Wimberly Interiors (UK) ↳ Created a concept of a modular, maintenance-free building material infused with native wildflower seeds to green cities Zauben (USA) ↳ Combines green roofs with solar panels and hydroponics, absorbing 10 times more water than ordinary green roofs. Urban Machine (USA) ↳ Uses AI-powered robots to recycle waste wood from demolition projects, promoting circular economy in construction. Taro AI (USA) ↳ Leverages AI and citizen contributions to make urban tree monitoring faster and cheaper for city governments. BLUUMBIO (USA) ↳ Rapidly cleans air, soil and water in cities using enzymes from fungi and tropical trees to remove industrial chemicals. Have you noticed any of these NatureTech solutions in your city? How do you think technologies like these will shape the future of urban living and sustainability? 🎞️ Kudos to the WATG team for this awesome animation Follow me and sign up to my newsletter for daily updates on NatureTech and Nature Finance

Entrepreneurs shape the world we live in through bold ideas and, by extension, help drive a better future. Over the past year, I’ve had the chance to meet some of the entrepreneurs helping to shape this better future through the Yes SF, Urban Sustainability Challenge. The Yes SF Top Innovators are an inspiration, helping to make the city of San Francisco a greener, more resilient, and more equitable place to live and work. I’m thrilled to announce the launch of a second Yes SF Challenge. Applications are now open for additional entrepreneurs to submit their visionary solutions for a more sustainable San Francisco. If selected, this second cohort of Top Innovators will benefit from an ecosystem of support built by Challenge collaborators including Deloitte, World Economic Forum, Salesforce, Citi, San Francisco Chamber of Commerce, and more than 35 other local organizations. We know from the first Yes SF Challenge that San Francisco is shaping a blueprint for urban revitalization and transformative impact—one that we believe cities around the globe can learn alongside. I can’t wait to see where this second Challenge, and bold vision for place-based change, takes us. 📢 Entrepreneurs: Submit your applications today at https://deloi.tt/47mJsK3 #OurPurposeImpacts
