Today, these are performed manually by medical-technical assistants and are therefore error-prone and time-consuming. We are super happy to announce our participation in the MedTech Summit on the topic of digital diagnosis. Johannes Strodel will present our project alongside amazing teams and presenters such as Rivercyte, Dr. Bickelhaupt from the UKER, and many others. Every exchange with life science experts and more experienced startups is very valuable for us. A nice side effect is that Moritz Koch from our team will be able to visit his good old campus in Regensburg 🎉.

Celebration time 🎉 Wir sind ab jetzt Teil des EXIST Programms! Was das ist? Mit dieser Initiative fördert das Federal Ministry for Economic Affairs and Climate Action technologieorientierte Gründungsvorhaben aus den Hochschulen. In einem nicht immer ganz einfachen Prozess haben wir unseren Innovationsplan detailliert ausformuliert, Märkte und Vertriebsstrategien diskutiert und unseren ersten Businessplan aufgestellt. An dieser Stelle ein ganz großes Dankeschön an unsere Unterstützer, die uns in diesem nervenaufreibenden Prozess zur Seite gestanden haben. Besondere Grüße gehen raus an das LMU Innovation & Entrepreneurship Center, deren Inkubator Programm uns seit den ersten Schritten begleitet hat und an Philipp Landerer vom LMU Spin-Off Service, der uns mit seinem trockenen Humor auch die bitterste Kritik versüßen konnte! Für uns bedeutet dieses Programm nun vor allem eines: Wir können unsere vielversprechende Forschung am LMU Klinikum nun Dank des dazugehörigen Stipendiums in Vollzeit weiterverfolgen und in die klinische Praxis tragen. Wir sind unfassbar froh, nun aktiv an unserem Prototypen arbeiten zu können, damit zukünftig Kliniken und Labore respiratorische zytologische Auswertungen schnell, akkurat und kosteneffizient auswerten können! Batch no. 7 of the #4CAccelertor has started!   Last week, our two-day kickoff workshop took place at the Amazon Development Center in Tübingen. Together with 12 promising #MedTech startups and we delved deep into the connection of the 4Cs – Commercialization, Certification, Clinical Studies and Copryright.   ✅ Day 1 –  Jan Engels from HTGF | High-Tech Gründerfonds gave an input on the investor perspective on the 4Cs and together with our CEO, Ingo Hämmerle, challenged the investor readiness of each team.   ✅ Day 2 – Henrike Stutzki, MII Startup Coach, gave an input on how the intended use of a medical device or IVD is interconnected with the business model. During sparring with the teams, existing gaps and possible challenges as well as opportunities not yet considered were discussed.   After two days of valuable insights and networking, 8 of these 12 teams were selected to participate in the full program: Aicendence, Powered Orthotics, Proskope, QuantiLight, relios.vision, LiSa, SmartAIs and EndoSurge 🚀   Congratulations to all of you! 🔬 Problem: In lung disease diagnostics, the microscopic examination cells (cytology) is indispensable. However, the standard procedures for cytological examination pose challenges. Not only does the manual execution result in a significant time commitment, but there is also a considerable qualitative variability in the results, complicating the diagnostic process. 🖥 Our solution: An analysis software serving as an AI co-pilot for automated cytological findings in clinical practice. Our Cyto-ML software guides laboratory personnel through the specific steps of sample preparation. The fully prepared slide is scanned and evaluated by the software using a ML model in the cloud tailored to the slide scanner and type of finding. Subsequently, our software presents the results, exportable as a PDF inclusive of current treatment guidelines, making them available to medical professionals.
