For nearly a decade, our WTS San Francisco Bay Area chapter has offered a unique opportunity for women in transportation to step into their power, own their strengths, and develop their leadership presence and signature style. The Women's Leadership Program (WLP) offers participants at all career levels the tools to develop strategic thinking about career paths (values, goals, and mindsets); identify and create the essential ingredients for high-functioning teams; and establish skills for ongoing success, including self-coaching, peer support, and action plans. We offer two tracks, one for Senior and Executive Leaders and the other for Mid-level Emerging Leaders which is now accepting applications for fall 2024! Additional information can be found on our website. Consider this amazing opportunity for yourself and share it with others who are ready to take their leadership presence and style to a whole new level! https://lnkd.in/gxbN2NqK
About us
The WTS San Francisco Bay Area chapter was founded in 1981 as a chapter of WTS International. We have grown to a community of 300-plus members, 25 corporate partners, and four agency partners, as well as several hundred professionals in the region who benefit from the programs and events that we offer. WTS San Francisco Bay Area was the first chapter to create a committee, the Glass Ceiling Task Force, dedicated to exploring women’s professional status in our local transportation community. The Glass Ceiling Task Force evaluates the advancement of women in the Bay Area transportation industry and recommends best practices for improving women’s development in the workplace. We were also the first chapter to establish structured mentoring programs and our flagship Women's Leadership Program for members. Today, these programs have become our most popular and acclaimed offerings with over 300 alumnae and many success stories of women advancing in their career as a direct result of those programs. While progress has been made in advancing women’s positions in the transportation industry, we recognize that more must be done to fulfill our mission. Our chapter strives to provide a wide range of professional development skills and tools relevant to women as they progress through the various stages of their careers. This includes introducing young girls and women to the industry, as well as providing learning and training opportunities for women entering the transportation workforce and those already established in it.

We had a great time connecting with so many transportation leaders and members at the WTS International Annual Conference in the vibrant and beautiful city of New Orleans. The conference focused on themes of #connectingcommunities and #equity, with important reminders that transportation advances when women’s careers advance and that representation matters. We also heard from several federal administrators about the future of transportation and current priorities. Also beaming that our local chapter's Employer of the Year nomination took home the International Award. Congratulations, Jacobs - we are so proud! We thank WTS International for putting on another excellent conference!
