The Homeless Alliance in Oklahoma City is raising funds to repair the walk-in refrigerator at their day shelter, which is crucial for storing food used to prepare free meals for those experiencing homelessness. This essential campaign runs through July 31, with a goal of $30,000. The day shelter serves over 350 guests daily, and last year, the kitchen team, led by Chef Chris McDermitt, prepared more than 103,000 meals. Chef McDermitt, with his fine dining background, is dedicated to providing nutritious, high-quality meals to those in need. The funds will cover the cost of a new condenser for the refrigerator and other vital kitchen improvements. The community has shown tremendous support so far, and the Oklahoma City Metropolitan Association of Realtors has pledged to match all campaign donations up to $10,000. Every contribution makes a difference! Let's come together to ensure the Homeless Alliance can continue their mission of feeding our neighbors in need. Donate today and help spread the word! https://lnkd.in/gsFsG3Ce.

“At the end of the day, it’s not about a single nonprofit. No one organization can fix an entire issue. It’s a collective, collaborative effort. Focusing solely on our piece means missing the chance for greater systemic change. This is why we chose the nonprofit sector—to create big change and big impact. To achieve this, we need to engage more, look each other in the eye, and discuss our actions.” – Lindsay Jordan, CEO & Founder, Write On Fundraising Join us in making a real difference together! In philanthropy, intermediaries and fiscal sponsors are the crucial links connecting donor resources to overlooked causes and marginalized communities. They pool funds, provide support, and absorb risks, enabling grassroots groups to focus on their core mission. At the recent Human Rights Funders Network Festival, rich discussions shed new light on fiscal sponsorship. Here are some key insights: Shift Power by Embracing Risk: Large donors should take on more uncertainties, simplifying applications and providing unrestricted funding. Build Trust: Trust must flow both ways, ensuring intermediaries can effectively support grassroots groups. Promote Collaboration: Avoid competition by fostering partnerships and shared learning among intermediaries. Expand Risk Appetite: Donors should provide more flexible, multiyear funding.
